A MESSAGE TO MYSELF

  WAKE UP! Get yourself together for you or your children. This life thing is serious… Don’t wait if you have time now, you want to go to college. WHY NOT? Nothing but problems and trouble out here on the streets. Ask any of these gangbangers what they’ve got out of it IN THE END? Nothing but jail, death, dead homies or prison. We make things hard for ourselves.

  I used to look up to one of the hardest gang members today all because he changed. He changed so good that it was meant for him to go through rough edges in life, he was a leader then and an even better one now! Shout out Kevin, he wasn’t ashamed then and he’s not ashamed now He turned out to be a children’s role model for the right reasons this time. But of course, once you sign that dotted line… sometimes it’s forever.

  I sat on my talent for many years, being too ashamed and afraid! But remember when you become that role model you have to lead by example. Remember to show what you’re teaching. Be sure it’s something positive because it will come back around to remind you KARMA!

  My blessings came in early when I was young... and I do thank GOD for that because right now, they are my inspirations and half of this book may wouldn’t even be if it weren’t for the 8 of them.

  #1. My talented oldest (Double P)

  #2.My strong second ( # 2)

  #3.My charming third ( # 3)

  #4.My serious fourth (Double M)

  #5 & 6 My missed twins (Red & Black)

  #7.My beautiful baby girl (The Kid)

  #8.My baby boy (Biggs)

  My mother MARYM TAYLOR still got raggedy notes & poems tucked away. THANK YOU, MAMMA,! I WILL CONTINUE THIS JOURNEY AND MAKE YOU PROUD! I've always loved putting the words together… I love writing poetry and music. I used to write all over everything anywhere I was. I used to write on napkins, fill in circles in the phone books or any other books or papers, I would trace on anything that I could trace on. I’d write on my clothes, even on myself! I just loved writing; I used to go through my mom’s bible, Or in her purse, I would see my handwriting, pull it out... it's my poems or a small letter I've written to her just to say I loved her.,. or it was maybe just some of my thoughts.

  A POEM FOR MY MOTHER

  I wrote a poem for your today as thoughts of you ran across my mind;

  When this crazy world overwhelms me, thoughts of you are how I unwind…

  Momma I think of you every minute, hour second of the day;

  That's why I call just to hear your voice; I hardly ever have anything to say…

  I love you momma and I don’t think I show you enough;

  I have so much to make up to you because I know raising me was tough...

  You're my #1 lady nothing will ever take your place in my heart;

  Lady without you in my world it would just crumble and fall apart...

  Well mother I just wanted to drop you a quick note on a line;

  Just to let you know momma you’re ALWAYS ON MY MIND…

  My family would always know when I'd been around because they’d see writing on an envelope. I used to send my poems to poetry.com, and they would send me little certificates for my poetry. I was so shy and too afraid to proceed any further with my poetry. My mom and family would tell me it was good writing, They always would encourage me to go further but I wouldn’t. I was actually named as one of Eber & Wein Best Poets Of 2019! I have poems in their Anthologies!
